I would like to share some resources I have found helpful in working with people in transition leaving this life for their next...
1) When my father was in hospice unable to communicate I sensed his fear of the unknown as his time of transition grew near. No one teaches us how to prepare for this event in life, so I knew he could hear me as I sensed his fear so I sat by his bed and read to him from THE TIBETAN BOOK OF THE DEAD. Who is to say what the sequence of events one experiences once they leave their body? But this ancient knowledge at least gives one a possible scenario other than the traditional "Pie in the sky when you die...heaven/hell plan". They do speak in detail how one ejects their consciousness at the point of transition to aid the reincarnation into the next life. It seemed to calm him that there was another possible outcome to look forward to other than Divine Judgement...knowing that life continues can help one believe that if they did not get it "right" in this life they will have other opportunities to work it out in other lives and learn new lessons
